Hip Hop Dance A high energy
street/funk class that teaches the most current styles of west coast
hip
hop. The class includes a thorough warm-up, strength
elements, hip hop progressions, and a new combination
every week. The music is fresh, the pace is fast,
and the style is hot- this is not your grandparents dance class.
Hip Hop Aerobics (Begins Oct.17)This
class
combines aerobics and a formatted hip hop class.
Boost your heart rate, burn fat,get tone, tighten muscles,
and increase energy. This hip hop aerobic class is bursting
with style and energy…you
are going to sweatand have fun doing it! You’ll learn some
fresh new moves that
will really spice up your workout. The class is designed for
women & men.
Street Jazz You'll have a great time
dancing in this class! Along with a complete warm-up and jazz
technique it combines attitude, street style and easy to follow
combinations. Dancing to hot fresh music we will break down
all of the steps and combine them into one dynamic routine that you can
take anywhere!.
Modern Our modern class
introduces the fundamental principles of Modern dance and will build
week to week. Basic movement concepts such as over
curve/under curve and contraction/release of the torso, articulation of
the sping, modenr dance vocabulatry, musicality and rhythmn are
explored. Teachers incorporate a blend of contemporary and
post-modern movement into their classes. Students are
strongly encourged to take ballet along with this class.
Pilates Pilates strengthens the
muscles that support the spine (the neck, shoulders, abs, hips, and
thighs) to bring balance into the body. Most body aches and
pains are due to muscular imbalance. Pilates helps to realign
the spine in order to decrease tension, increase flexibility, and
strengthen the body from the inside out. Baby sitting
available during our day time class.
Shining Starz Play Group
This 90minute class for the entire family
is
“One Stop Fun!!” Our trained instructor will mix a
bit of structured dance
& tumble time along with a time that you and your family can
explore our
gym with our fun equipment, including ribbons, balls, hoops, scarves,
balloons and
much more. If you are already involved in a play group…you
are going to invite
your whole group, bring your friends and take a break from your house
and busy
schedule! Although
the entire class is
filled with fun for all…no matter what age… we
will be promoting core body
strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and rhythm; as well as
building the
basic motor-and early social – and emotional confidence skill
development with
infants & toddlers. Not
sure if you
can make it every week? No
problem! Punch
cards are available.
Fine Arts Day Care This
one-of-a-kind fine arts day care explores the arts in a positive loving
atmosphere. Along
with dance (ballet,
tap, & jazz), tumbling, cheer & art we introduce
hip-hop, musical
theatre & drama (imagination station).
Don’t worry! We take
time for rest & relaxation during our snack and
story time. Child
attends one day a
week. Offered on
Tuesday &
Wednesday’s from 9am – 12 (so that you still have
the option of additional
pre-school programs), not to mention a “great
break” for mom to shop, get her
nails & hair done...or what ever she has week to week! More information available
at our front desk

quickly!
Recreational Cheer
Skills,
drills and strength are stressed in this beginner
cheerleading class to help develop tumbling skills and
jumps utilized in all cheerleading teams and
competitive cheerleading. Our Cheer and Tumble instructors work with
athletes
of all skill and age levels to enhance their performance and and
ability. Emphasis
is placed on team building & fun!
Creative Dance
This class is
a pre-school favorite! They
are “free to
be me”. Imagination
is the basis of this
class from their warm-up to their cool down and everything in between. Feel
the music! Through
moving we learn
about the space around us and each other.
Let’s
go! Children
move freely with streamers, balloons,
scarves & hoops to music & stories.
Funky Tap
Funky tap
alternates between the techniques of tap with the funk of jazz and
hip-hop. Tap
dancing is the class by
which an infinite number of rhythms are created with the toes and
heels. This
exciting class improves techniques of coordination, concentration, and
movement. The class progresses in gradual steps to insure rapid
improvement in
all ages. The improvement includes endurance, and aerobic capabilities
as well
as speed.
Leaps, Turns, Strength &
Flexibility
(LTSF) This
is a class created to focus solely on technique. The student
is able to
work on his/her particular weakness, as well as improving their
individual
strengths. Jumps, kicks, turns, leaps, and stretching are jam
packed into
one exciting and energetic class. Improvement and self esteem
are
immediately elevated.
Lyrical
Lyrical is
offered to the ballet based student who wishes to enhance their style
in a more
expressive way. This is a beautiful form of dance that brings a
contemporary
& dramatic style along with amazing control. It brings a
fabulous awareness
of body placement and movement.
Ballet
Ballet
is the
foundation from which all dancing is built upon. By learning the
fundamental
techniques of this beautiful art form, any student, from young child to
young
adult, will have the base to perform any and all styles of dance. An
added plus
in strengthening posture, balance, and flexibility, is the tremendous
improvement in form and discipline for all athletics in all that
participate in
this class.
RECOMMENDED
DRESS CODE
- Jazz/Tap/Hip
Hop: Solid leotard, or 1/2 top with jazz/Capri
style pant.
- Shoes:
Slip on or tie.
Tap 1 - black patent leather, tie; Tap 2 & up - black jazz tap
oxford.
- Hip
Hop: Dance sneakers or tennis shoes.
- Lyrical:
Solid leotard, skirt tights. Tan
jazz or lyrical sandal.
- Ballet:
1-Lt Pink Leotard, 2-Lt. Blue
leotard, 3-Dark Green, Master & Jr. Co. Burgundy.
- Ballet
Shoes: Pink ballet shoes with strings tied in a
double knot, cut approx. 2 1/2 in length and tucked insides shoe,
elastic must be sewn on ballet shoes. POINTS SHOES: Need to be
specially fitted.
- Tumble:
Elastic shorts, capri's, tank
top, or leotard. No tights. bare feet or tumble shoes.
*NOTE
about Ballet: Everyone must wear tights. Hair needs to be in
a bun if possible. No baggy shorts or loose fitting clothes. No two
piece outfits. Leg warmers & skirts are fine.
