Cheer Time USA Coaching Staff

Kelly Taphorn

Kelly is the Owner and Director of United Starz Academy, Cheer Time USA, and The Co. Edge Dance Team.  She has more than 29 years experience in the cheerleading, dance, and tumbling industry.  Kelly graduated from Illinois State University where she cheered for three years.  Kelly has numerous certifications including AACCA, ACE, ACSM, CPR, Advanced Life Saving/First Aid, and several judging certifications.  She is USASF credentialed in Stunts Level 1-6, Tosses Level 2-5, and Tumbling Level 1-5.  Kelly is a founding member of USASF (U.S. All Star Federation).  Kelly was a former staff member for DCA and UCA.  She was also an Advisor Trainer for UCA; training coaches on Safety and Liability issues.  Kelly's experience includes choreographing competitive routines (15 + years), hosting private camps, and private coaching for more than 20 years.  Kelly has been a certified tumbling instructor for the past 16 years.

Jo Stamm

RC is the current Dean of Admissions at Bradley University.  He was a former BU cheerleader (5 years), and the former head coach of the Bradley University's cheer Team (3 years).  RC has been on staff at Cheer Time USA for the past 9 years where he coaches the Junior and Senior age teams.  He is USASF credentialed in Stunts Level 1-6, Tosses Level 2-5, and Tumbling Level 1-5.  RC is also a member of USASF, certified cheerleading judge, and a certified tumbling instructor.  He has more than 16 years experience in judging, and has worked with numerous middle and high schools doing private coaching.

Andrea has been a member of the Cheer Time USA staff for 6 years.  She has been an assistant coach for 4 years, head coach for 3 years, and a  tumbling instructor for 6 years.  Andre was a former St. Ambrose University cheerleader (4 years), and was captain her senior year.  Andrea has experience teaching the strength and flexibility classes, as well as, the stunt classes.  Andrea has been private coaching in tumbling and cheerleading for more than 4 years.
